Today in class students finished reading through Chapter 18 in the book "Crossing the Wire." They also turned in the questions they answered from Chapter 10 through 18. DUE TOMORROW: Learning Center Check #3 (worth 10 points)! DUE FRIDAY @ 4 PM: This will be the very latest students can turn in late work to help their 4th quarter grades!

Today in class students continued reading "Crossing the Wire" but this time they were answering questions about what they read instead of doing summaries, like before. DUE TOMORROW: Nothing, but 1 week from today (June 1) Learning Center Check #3 is due (worth 10 points). By this time all students should have completed a total of 30 points!

Today in in Periods 4-6 students took a Utah Map and Timeline test. Then they were introduced to the subject of modern-day undocumented immigration by watching a series of news stories about the subject. Today in Period 1 students began reading a novel called "Crossing the Wire" about undocumented immigration. DUE TOMORROW: Nothing. DUE THURSDAY (Periods 1-4) or DUE FRIDAY (Periods 5-6): Essay Rewrites (if you earned a C or lower on the last essay).

Today in 6th period, students reviewed for a test they will take tomorrow about important dates in Utah's history and Utah map locations. Today in Periods 1-3 students took this test (they reviewed for it on Friday). They also were introduced an important current issue facing Utah: immigration. They will soon begin reading a historical fiction about this issue. DUE TOMORROW (for Periods 4-6): Be prepared for the test! Today in Period 4-6 students learned about Native American Civil Rights and also listened to songs from the civil rights movement. Period 1 learned how to do their civil rights project and then worked on it in class. DUE MONDAY: Nothing.
