Today in class students read a story in order to better understand how a strike worked and how a compromise can prevent bigger problems. Then we started an activity to simulate what it was like to work in a mine in Utah in the 1920's. DUE TOMORROW: Family interview questions!!!

Today in class (just like yesterday), students re-enacted the "Columbian exchange" which is what historians call the trading of goods, ideas, and practices between Native Americans and Europeans. They also learned about how disease and the loss of land devastated Utah's Native American population. DUE TOMORROW: Signed parent-teacher conference forms for those who did not come to conferences last Thursday!
