Today in Period 1, 3-7 students were introduced to 4th quarter learning centers.  Then they listened to songs about the Great Depression by Woody Guthrie.  DUE TOMORROW: Nothing.

Today in Period 2 students peer reviewed their rough drafts, which should have been completed by today.  DUE TOMORROW: Final draft of your essay (worth 60 points)!

Today in Periods 1, 3-7 students took a short quiz on the Great Depression.  Then we looked at visual art created by WPA artists in that time period.  DUE TOMORROW: Nothing.

Today in Period 2 students worked on a rough draft of an essay about immigration to Utah.  DUE TOMORROW: Rough drafts must be finished!

Today in Period 1, 3-7 students prepared for a quiz about the Great Depression on Monday.  They also watched film clips about the Great Depression from "It's a Wonderful Life" and "The Grapes of Wrath." DUE MONDAY: Prepare for quiz!

Today in Period 2 students began writing the rough draft of their persuasive essay comparing two of Utah's immigrant groups from the 1860's-1920's to each other.  DUE MONDAY: Nothing.

Today in Period 1, 3-7 students read various articles about what life in Utah was like during the Great Depression.  DUE TOMORROW: Students must have all their learning center points in by tomorrow to avoid being late!  (30 points for Period 1, 50 for Period 3-7)

Today in Period 1, 3-7 students took a quiz on mining in Utah and the Stock Market crash of 1929.  Then we used math to analyze Great Depression statistics.  DUE MONDAY:  Nothing, but students should have completed ALL 3rd quarter learning centers by Wednesday March 18 (30 total pts. needed in Period 1, 50 total in Periods 3-7).

Today in Period 1, 3-7 students began discussing how the Stock Market crash of 1929 affected Americans (whether they owned stock or not).  Then we reviewed for the Rise and Stretch assessment that will happen tomorrow.  DUE TOMORROW: Study for the quiz!

Today in Period 2 students read about voter turnout rates in Utah.  We then discussed the importance of having a high voter turnout rate in a democracy.  DUE TOMORROW:  Nothing.
