(Period 7) Today students learned about economic causes that lead to undocumented immigration from Mexico to the US.  Then students continued reading Crossing the Wire.  DUE TODAY:  Nothing.  DUE NEXT TIME:  Ch. 10-18 Comprehension Questions.

(Period 3) Today students read two news articles related to Crossing the Wire.  First they read about the violence done by drug cartels along the border, then they read about the heated debate over immigration here in Utah.  DUE TODAY:  Comprehension Questions and Summaries of these articles.  DUE NEXT TIME:  Ch. 10-18 Comprehension Questions.

US History

(Period 2) Today students who did not meet the minimum requirements for attendance, tardies, and completing the study guide in the last two weeks took the Civil War test.  Then all students wrote an essay as a introduction to the film Glory about African-American soldiers in the Civil War, which we will watch next week.  DUE TODAY:  Test and Pre-Film Essay.  DUE NEXT TIME:  Nothing.
