Utah Studies

B DAY:  Today in class students read about the Mexican-American War and how Utah changed hands from Mexican territory to US territory as a result of that war.  Then students wrote a short essay about how things might be different had Mexico kept a hold of those lands.  DUE TODAY:  Family Immigration Interview and What if Mexico Had Won? Essay.  DUE SOON:  Family vs. Immigrant Group Venn Diagram (end of class Monday).

US History

Yesterday and today there were no US History classes due to Finance Park field trip and Explore Testing.

Today in class students finished their regional Native American posters.  Then students began studying common myths and misconceptions around Christopher Columbus and his journeys to the Americas.  DUE TODAY:  Regional Native American posters.  DUE WEDNESDAY:  SAGE 2.5 for those students who received one from me!

Today in class students finished learning about Native American cultures and then were given a Family Interview homework assignment.  DUE TODAY:  Signed Grade Printoffs.  DUE WEDNESDAY:  Family Interviews!

US History

Today in class most students finished their regional Native American posters.  DUE TODAY:  Signed Grade Printoffs.  DUE NEXT TIME:  Regional Native American Posters (after the first 15 minutes of class).
