A DAY: Today students watched a documentary about DREAM Act supporters and their struggles to find enough votes in Congress to create a path to citizenship for undocumented immigrants in the US who were brought here by their parents.  DUE TODAY:  DREAM Act Notes.  DUE SOON: Quarter 1 Writing Like a Historian Essay (Thursday).

B DAY:  Today students examined the story of what happened at the earliest successful English colony in what is now the United States: Jamestown, Virginia.  DUE TODAY:  Jamestown Questions.  DUE SOON: Intro to Slavery Questions (next class).

B DAY:  Today in class students examined major US immigration laws throughout history.  Then students read about how the debate over immigration is having a big effect on the 2016 elections.  Finally, students examined and voted on 3 proposed immigration laws that would affect Utahns.  DUE TODAY: Immigration Law Voting.  DUE SOON:  "The Dream is Now" Video Notes (next class).
