Utah Studies (Per. 3, 4)
Today we began block schedule due to CRT testing in science, language arts, and math. In my class, we finished watching the film about Swedish immigrant Joe Hill. Then we answered the Big Picture Question from this unit. Finally, we began a new unit by studying about Utah's Pacific Islander pioneers. DUE TODAY: Big Picture Question. DUE NEXT TIME: Signed Grade Printoffs!
US History (Per. 2)
Today we began block schedule due to CRT's in science, language arts, and math. In my class we studied the early battles of the Civil War, especially Bull Run and Antietam. Then we examined why the Civil War was the bloodiest war in American history. Finally, we went outside so that I could have students re-enact the military tactics used by both armies at the start of the war. DUE TODAY: Nothing. DUE NEXT TIME: Signed Grade Printoffs!

Utah Studies

All Classes
Today in all classes students heard a presentation from City Councilman Kyle LaMalfa. He talked to them about what city government does for them and had them brainstorm ideas on good routes for future streetcar routes in Glendale. DUE TODAY: Life as a Slave Projects for 8th graders only.

Tdoay students finished the "Mine Labor Game" by deciding whether or not to go on strike and, if they chose to strike, by negotiating a settlement to the strike. DUE TODAY: Nothing. DUE NEXT TIME: Nothing.
