Today in class students began researching other history books (besides the textbook) for information on their research question regarding the relationship between Utah Native Americans and white American settlers. DUE TOMORROW: Nothing, BUT a lot of students did NOT turn in learning centers that were due on Friday! Please turn those in as soon as possible!

Today in class students turned in learning centers and practiced using indexes in anticipation of the research that they will begin on Monday about their group's research topic regarding Native American and settler interaction. DUE MONDAY: Nothing, but if you did not turn in your learning centers on Friday, you can still turn them in late and receive full credit as long as you have not used up your 2 free lates yet. Missing those will hurt your learning and your grade so get learning centers turned in ASAP!

Today in class most students finished their research from Chapter 7 regarding their topic related to Native Americans and European-American settlers. DUE TOMORROW: Learning Center Check #1 (20 points for Periods 1-2, 4-6; 10 points for Period 3)!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Today students began researching what happened between Utah settlers and Utah Native Americans from the 1840's to the 1890's. The first source of information that they used today was the textbook. DUE TOMORROW: Nothing, but Learning Center Check #1 is due Friday!

Today in class students took a quiz on the early years of the Utah settlement period.  Then we began discussing the project for the next unit.  Students will be in groups creating a poster that answers questions about what happened when European-American settlers met Utah Native Americans.  DUE TOMORROW: Nothing, but recall that Learning Center Check #1 is due Friday!
