A DAY: Today in class students learned how Lewis and Clark opened up the West to settlement which eventually lead to immigration along the Oregon Trail by Americans.  DUE TODAY:  Nothing.  DUE FRIDAY:  SAGE 9 and Signed Grade Printoffs.

Utah Studies

B DAY:  Today students began studying modern patterns of immigration to Utah by reading an article and analyzing some graphs.  DUE TODAY:  Signed Grade Printoffs.  DUE FRIDAY:  SAGE 3.

A DAY:  Today in class students learned about various large groups of non-LDS immigrants that came to Utah from the 1860's through 1920's.  Then they compared one of those groups to their own family coming to Utah.  DUE TODAY:  Nothing.  DUE THURSDAY:  Signed Grade Printoffs for those who didn't come see me at parent-teacher conferences.

B DAY:  Today students learned about how Utah changed hands after the Mexican-American War.  Then they wrote essays about how life would be different had Mexico kept the lands they lost in the war.  DUE TODAY:  What if...Essays.  DUE SOON:  SAGE 3 and Family/Immigrant Venn Diagram (next Wed.)
