US History

Today students studied the idea of Manifest Destiny by listening to Bob Dylan's "With God on Our Side" and then learning about John O'Sullivan's famous essay about "Manifest Destiny."  DUE TODAY:  Nothing.  DUE SOON:  Wartime Propaganda Article (next Thursday).

Utah Studies

Today in class students finished learning about the Japanese and Greek immigrants that came to Utah in the late 1800's and early 1900's.  Then they compared their family immigration history to one of the groups we studied yesterday and today.  DUE TODAY:  Family vs. Immigrant Group Comparison.  DUE SOON:  SAGE Prep 4 (next Thursday).

US History

Today students read about the Louisiana Purchase and the controversy surrounding it which led to the death of Alexander Hamilton.  DUE TODAY:  Louisiana Purchase Summaries.  DUE SOON:  Wartime Propaganda Article (next Friday).

Utah Studies

Today in class students learned about Chinese, Italian, and Japanese immigrants that came to Utah between the 1860's and 1890's.  DUE TODAY:  Signed Grade Printoffs and Family Immigration Interviews.  DUE SOON: Family vs. Immigrant Group Venn Diagrams (Wednesday).

US History

Today in class students wrote legal opinions about whether or not the Alien and Sedition Acts and the PATRIOT Act is constitutional.  DUE TODAY: ASA/PATRIOT Act Essays.  DUE SOON:  Louisiana Purchase Summaries (Wednesday).

Utah Studies

Today in class students learned about how the Mexican-American War lead to Utah going from Mexican control to US control in 1848.  DUE TODAY:  What if Mexico Had Won? Essay.  DUE TOMORROW:  Family Interviews and Signed Grade Printoffs!
