Utah Studies

Today in class students wrote a BPQ essay comparing different groups of Euro-American explorers to Utah.  Then we studied Iosepa, Utah--the oldest Pacific Islander settlement in Utah's history.  DUE TODAY:  Euro-American Exploration BPQ.  DUE SOON:  All late work for Quarter 3 must be turned in to me by 3:40 PM on Wednesday, March 19!

US History

Today in class students finished learning about how Manifest Destiny affected Westward Expansion by examining Tecumseh, the Cherokee Trail of Tears, and other examples of Euro-Americans taking Native American lands.  DUE TODAY:  Nothing.  DUE SOON:  Manifest Destiny Essay Test (Tuesday).  Also, all late work for Quarter 3 must be turned in to me by 3:40 PM on Wednesday, March 19!

Today in class students examined how the US government under President Polk started the Mexican-American War, how a young Abe Lincoln challenged Polk, and how both sides used propaganda to gain support for the war.  DUE TODAY:  Nothing.  DUE SOON:  Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo excerpts (Thursday).
