Today in Periods 4 and 6 students started reading the novel Kokopelli's Flute.  DUE TODAY:  They wrote a 1/2 page summary about Chapter 2.  DUE NEXT TIME:  Summaries for Ch. 4 and Ch. 6.

Today in Period 1 students read the Gettysburg Address and discussed it's meaning.  Then they read from the textbook about how the war changed the North and the South.  DUE TODAY:  Nothing.  DUE NEXT TIME (TUESDAY):  We will write a summary of what was read about changes to North and South during war.

Today in Period 7 students discussed and debated the main goal that Lincoln had in issuing the Emancipation Proclamation.  DUE TODAY:  Oral arguments on this issue.  DUE NEXT TIME (TUESDAY):  Nothing.

Today in class students finished their Civil Rights projects.  Then we read a newspaper article about the common problem of Native American artifact looting.  We will begin a book about this subject next time.  DUE TODAY:  Civil Rights Project!  DUE NEXT TIME:  Nothing.

Today in Period 1 students read about, wrote about, and debated whether or not Lincoln issued the Emancipation Proclamation to mainly to free the slaves or to save the Union.  DUE TODAY:  Philosophical Chair Debate Oral Statement.  DUE NEXT TIME:  Notes on the Battle of Gettysburg.
